Hello all,
Just thought I would introduce my 4runner. I was given a 1998 4runner limited a few months ago and have enjoyed getting it running again.
My aunt was the prior owner and it appears that she allowed it to run out of oil and eventually blew a hole in the block. It sat under a tree at her house for about 5 years when she decided to give it to me.
I decided to replace the engine and transmission with a junkyard set from another 1998 Limited with lower miles. I am having issues with the replaced transmission which I will probably discuss in another section but it does run and drive! I used this forum alot during the installation process and it was very helpful so thank y'all for that!
I have cleaned it up a lot and currently in the process of getting the paint back to a decent shine as it felt like sandpaper when I brought it home. Some nice tires will eventually be added with an upgraded suspension but that is all I have planned for now.
I have owned an FJ for several years and have to admit that I like the 4runner design much more.
