Yesterday I pulled the trigger on a 97 T4R SR5 4x4. Its of course got the 3.4L v6 and Manual tranny with 210k miles. Previous owner was the original owner. She had always had it serviced at a dealership and did anything they recommended.
Most recently she's put a new clutch in in the last couple months and put a new battery in it. She's hardly driven it in the last year. Last oil change was 10/2012 and its only been driven 300 miles since.
I asked the lady if it had been off roaded any. Her reply was "yea, one time we took it down a trail in Colorado." So, 4x4 has hardly ever been used.
Only oil leak I've found is the rear pinion seal needs replacing.
Today I put fresh oil in it (no sweat thanks to the tutorials on here.) it and changed the air filter today. I was going to top of the rear differential oil to make sure its ok until I can get the seal ordered and installed. However, I couldn't get the fill plug broke free. I didn't was to risk rounding it off or anything so I'm going to just take it to somebody tomorrow.
All in all I'm pumped about this new ride. Its going to need tires and I'm sure there will be more things to fix/replace but it seems like a pretty solid rig at this point.
