New 4 runner owner

hey everyone!
I have been looking for a while at 4 runners and finally purchased one yesterday. So far i absolutely love the car. It rides great and is excellent shape. Its a 97 with 70,000 miles. Picked it up for 8,000. The car looks brand new inside and out. There are a few things that i wanted on a 4 runner that this one doesn't have but the price was right. I am looking for a factory roof rack if someone has one they want to sell. I am also looking for the wind deflector that goes at the top of the lift gate. Let me know. Thanks!

ya thanks alot i like it so much. Definently let me know if you come across anything. Also looking for some running boards
 
yes thank you! I was trying to find a factory one like what the limiteds have but they discontued them. I like the way that one looks though

Irbis OffRoad just installed mine-it is a metal factory deflector-they had several laying around the shop. It is not an easy install-threaded inserts must be put in the body of the rear hatchback. I have the mounting instructions and Private Message me if you want to go "factory".

I am having mine painted to match my body color-I have not yet seen anyone do this but I bet someone has beaten me to it.
 
Nice pick up. For the parts, you might want to try your local junk yard to see if they have any 4Runners there. Also, you don't want running boards. Waste of money. Just get some mudflaps.

Which trim did you get? (SR5, I'm guessing). Is it a 4x4? Rear locker? Auto/manual?

And I believe the 97's had a rear spring recall on them. Check to see if your qualifies or if it has been done.

It's funny how people who don't have running boards want them, and most people who have them want them off.

I am removing mine this afternoon.

No kidding, man. I remember years ago when on an Integra board, they were oogling over daytime running lights and trying to retrofit them on their cars. Meanwhile, all the Canadian owners were trying to get rid of them. Same with "JDM" front end conversions. Funny stuff.
 
Congrats on the purchase! I personally like my running boards even though everyone on here keeps saying to take them off.
 
does your truck already have the rails for the roof rack? i have two cross bar. i also have the stock rear wind deflector. i replace mine with a spoiler.

where are you located at?

a lil more information..
Its ust a 2wd because im only 16 and because i have to pay for insurance, it was just too much for me. Plus I have to make payments on it.
I am not sure now if i want running boards. Kinda like the look without them. I am looking into some fender flares though.
