New 4 Runner Questions?

Hello, I have a few questions about the new 4 Runner and hopefully some of you might be able to help me.

Currently I have a 2005 SR5 4WD. I am looking to upgrade to a 2011 in the next month or so and had so questions.

First, is the driver's seat more comfortable than the 4th gen?

How is the Ipod hook up? Is it just the RCA hook up or is more than that?

Any cons to the 5th gen over the 4th gen?

I love my fifth gen, but the front seats are not as comfortable as my dad's 4th gen, or even my '05 Taco for that matter. The seat cushions are short and very firm. My wife who is 5'10" gets pretty uncomfortable on long trips. Handling on the sr-5's is also inferior.

I think the seats in my 5th gen are good, but, i came from a 02 xterra. I also have leather. Just my 02. cents. I love the heated seats too.

As far as the iPod. Hook up. There is a USB interface in the glove box, that you can hook up an iPod to. there is also a mini-jack below the radio next to the 12v outlet. When i say mini-jack (think headphone jack), you could use a male to male mini jack to hook stuff up to it. No RCA inputs(red, yellow,white)

The best part of the iPod interface is the bluetooth streaming. I didn't even know it had this feature until after i bought it. If you have an iPhone or iTouch, you can bluetooth stream music or whatever from the phone to the car. I've read that droids also work well. Or worst case you can plug in your iPod into the glove box.

Thanks for the feedback. I can't imagine the seats being worst than the 4th gen. I need to look more into this. I'm 5'9", maybe they will be better.

Good to know about the glove box and usb. once it is hooked up that way, can you control through steering wheel controls?

6'4" here and I have put almost 3K miles in the first month of ownership. I have cloth seats and they are comfortable. Spent 10 hours in it Friday (650 mile trip) and had no problems. Handling was not so good until I found they left the tires at 44psi from the dealership. Aired them down to 35psi and it handles just fine, or as fine as the OEM tires will let it. I hooked my ipod up to the USB port in the glove box and I just leave it there now.

That is awesome. I love the idea of being able to leave it in there.

For me, the 4th gen seats have been not so great compared to the rest of the vehicle. I love it and can't wait to get the new one hopefully soon.

I have a 2010 limited, I’m 6’1” and the seats are comfortable to me. You can adjust them up, down forward, back and the lumbar support is good and adjustable. The seatbelt is in a good place and sits comfortably when on.

I have an iPhone and it syncs seamlessly as soon as I get in the car. The sound quality is great and you can manipulate the audio sources (Sat, AM, FM or BT) and switch songs or channels from the steering wheel. Overall, I’m really pleased with it. There are also normal wall plugs as you would find in your house in the center council and in the back so you can charge up phones, laptops or even plug in a fridge for a trip. I thought this was a great feature.

5'9" and ditto. I find them quite comfortable. Very adjustable, power lumbar, love the leather heated seats.
