New 4R SR5 or Limited?

Trail editions seem to be an extinct beast at the dealers

Definately getting close to purchase and intend to mod this vehicle over time. Will be used in normal city/urban driving as well as normal offroad in the desert and mountain areas here in CA and the pacific northwest. Nothing heavy duty like rock crushing.

i am heavily inclined to just get the base 4WD SR5 with pretty much no extra options (salsa red pearl/sand beige interior). Adding aftermarket lift, wheels/tires, exhaust etc.

Other than all the amenities and upgrades to the interior/moonroof etc is there anything on the limited mechanicly or suspension wise that i would be sorely missing on the base model?

If I were to do it again I would prob go with the SR5 over the limited if no Te is available (although you can always special order one if you are okay with waiting; I did that with my limited).

• Heated seats and leather are after-market available.
• XRear suspension is nice, but I want to go to Icon suspension anyway, so the Xreas will be ripped out.
• 20 inch OEM wheels will get replaced with TRD rims.
• More/better speakers (not that important to me).
• More cup holders (not that important to me).
• Replace rockers and front fender flare with TE (to fit Rock Rails).

I didn't realize how much I would mod the vehicle once I got it. but if the list above matches about what you are looking to do, you might as well get the SR5 and put the difference in cost towards the mods you would make anyway.

Yeah this is likely very similar things that I would want to do and not worth spending the extra dough on all the limited stuff. I still may go the special order route on the TE though.

The SR5 is a luxury vehicle compared to my current daily driver a 73 roadrunner.
