New 4runner, frustrated owner

Agree here as well. I have a good friend that had first a used LX 470, then traded it in on a then-new 2006 GX 470. After spending some time in his GX, I decided that the "Toyota version" (4Runner Limited) would be good enough for me. After getting my 4R's seating adjusted properly, I can say that I find my seats every bit as comfortable as those in his GX.

As to it taking some time, half-hour +, to find the sweet spot for seating setup...I don't think that is that bad at all. Then again, I am past my 20s where "everything has to happen now, at the speed of light" and am patient enough to know that if I want it done right, that some time has to be taken to do it corectly. One little bump up or down - in our out - in the wrong way in a seat angle can mean the difference in being very comfortable for a 3 hour trip and being very miserable for that same 3 hour trip.

Besides, I spent roughly

Seat comfort...leather or fabric

I have an 05 Sport....fabric seats.

We bought off the lot from existing inventory so we didn't get the leather seats we'd become acustomed to....

The frabic is great....I think much more comfortable than the leather we've had in other vehicles (ml320, highlander, pontiac bonneville). It is warm, not sticky when hot or slippery when cold.

Great stuff. Re comfort of seats....took some experimentation to find the right angle. Since no power seats and not memory settings, it is a pain with different drivers.

seats

I spent around 4 hours each way over Christmas driving back to see our family. I tried a few different settings on the seat....

For the most part it was pretty decent, the angle, height and lumbar stuff is setup where I like it....

My only real complaint is the actual seat part is just so hard. Felt like sitting on a hard church pew after a few hours.

Dunno, maybe the original owner was a big guy and compressed the padding or something? The seat looks fine, it doesnt look crushed or anything, just extremely hard.

And yes, I noticed it during the test drive too but the truck was a good deal and I figured if nothing else I could replace the padding in the drivers seat down the road.
