New 4Runner- lots to do tomorrow

Hello Ladies and Gents,

Purchased an 04 SE V8 4x4 last week. Sold my 97 so I have some spending money for it ��

So far I've done the following:
K&N air filter
Engine oil- Full synthetic
Pioneer double din stereo( hands free calling backup camera)
Interior and exterior detailed- feels like a brand new car
Headlights replaced, lenses re-finished

Tomorrow I'll be doing the following:
Front/ rear diffs- full synthetic
T-case- full synthetic
Spark plugs- ngk
Front pads and rotors
Tpms delete- damn light won't go out

I'll be making a trip to lowes before I start to get a breaker bar and torque wrench( due to lessons learned from 3rd gen).

I did all of the above on my 3rd gen so I don't think I'll have any issues.
I'll post some pics of the journey tomorrow afternoon.

Which head unit did you go with? I'm considering replacing my stock radio and want the features you mentioned.

Congrats and welcome to 4th gen world!:wink2:

Just IMHO: I would not use K&N air filter (assuming it is the one that required to be oiled) as it can potentially affect MAF sensor;
I would recommend “aFe Pro Dry-S” filter;

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Didn't get everything I wanted to get done done.
Replaced the spark plugs ( took out the carbon filter while I had it apart), front pads and rotors, and rear diff fluid.

It was cold and the front brakes took a little longer than expected.

I got the Pioneer AVH-X2700BS. I Love it so far. It has the color changing option so I changed it to match the orange interior lights.

I have been using the K&N air filter for years and never had an issue, thanks for the tip though.

Couple questions:
Are rear brakes applied when you hit the brakes? It still feels like the rotors are somewhat warped after changing to new rotors in the front. It also seems like I have to push the petal down farther than before and stopping power is not what I expected for new rotors and pads.

I feel like the V8 should have a little more power. Any ideas of something that could be causing a loss of power?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I am sure you disconnected the battery prior to your maintenance( In order for the ECU to relearn everything) and if so, then remember that you have the pre VVT-i v8 so it only has 230(Or 235 can't remember right now) but you have 320 ft lbs of TQ. Whereas the 05+ v8 has 270 horses on tap, again, due to the VVT-i.

Either way, the 03/04 v8 has plenty get up and go. with Great towing capacity.:becky:
