So I just got a 4runner and I am new here. I was hanging out at 3zc. My 4 runner is a 1998 limited with 231k miles BUT a new engine with 30k. So far i have put in a new radio, amp, and some subs. I also added blue tag lights but they are going to be changed with natural white when I get them because they are asking for a ticket. The only thing wrong with the truck is a dent the size of a dime and the paint on the center caps in the wheels are flaking off. Going to have HIDs soon.

Yea the 4runner is missing that. But I never really go off-road anyway. I was driving this 9mpg beast with 4x4 but the most it got off-road was when it snowed here in GA.

ATL here too. where at? cherokee county here
I'm in Douglasville for now.

looks good dude and i understand where ur coming from since i have a 2wd too.
If someone where to give me a running POS truck to tear the s*** out of trust me I would take that thing through hell but as a DD I need to rely on everyday its just not gonna happen. This truck might get lifted a little eventually but it still probably wont make it off-road anymore than a gravel driveway.

Also does anyone know about fixing the center caps. What would be the best way to do it? I know spray paint will work but that doesn't usually last for wheels. Maybe Ill just find some black 17s or something. I think black wheels would look good on this.

Wow another georgia guy.

Glad to have you! I would recommend getting rid of the blue lights.

Trust me I am. I ordered two Natural White LEDS from superbrightleds to replace them. These came out of my tahoe when I was returning to interior back to stock and I just wanted to see what it was like. These blue ones are so bright that they shine on the ground behind the car.

georiga starting to have more members now..i like to see that. and ur over in douglasville. fonerunner is over there.

as for the center caps i'd just sand them down and spray paint..thats what i did and it lasted 6 months so far. but its starting to chip away now. so ill have to spray paint again soon.

I think he might be the reason I want black wheels on my truck now. If his almost looks like mine with black wheels I saw it the other day.

Nice runner you got there, it looks familiar ;):

Based on your mileage I would recommend installing an external transmission cooler on your 4Runner. Our factory heat exchangers in the radiator tend to leak with higher mileage causing the coolant to be mixed with ATF, which can be disasterous. Search "strawberry milkshake" if you are interested.

Nice truck! very clean.

As to the center caps, lightly sand them and spray paint them metallic silver. I did mine and from 4' away, look stock and new. Up real close, you can see the little imperfections.
Nice cheap & easy fix.
