Wha? I thought you said you had a replacement screen? Try that one, like I mentioned before, it should plug right in.

Ok, from what you said before, the HU units (your broken screen NAV and the NAV of the donor screen) are practically the same, as in the rear of the units have the same plugs. I would say, yes, it's more than likely the same ribbon cable.
As far as telling you 100% if they carry over from year to year, I don't know.

Thanks Cookie. I will do that. I noticed on mine that there are 2 screws on the bottom corners. I unscrewed them and pulled out the ribbon cable from the unit so screen is off. Then I tried to see if I could reattach it and could not get cable back into connector in unit deep enough so it would stay. Are there any tricks to doing that? I could not get my hand behind screen very easily to plug cable back in. It seems like it is a little too short. Does it just slide back under connector or does connector pop up first? I did not want to do any more damage.

Doesn't sound like you've done any damage. Yet.
Like I mentioned before, I've never taken it apart so I can't say.
