hey everybody!
after doing a couple months worth of research on this forum and other websites and looking around for a 3rd gen 4runner with a 5 spd manual transmission and a locking rear differential, i found one! well without an elocker, but finding a manual was hard enough. 167k miles from what i've read isn't that much for a toyota, plus the price was right and it was in great shape. i'll just have to save up for an ARB.
man i love driving this thing! my last 3 cars have been hondas and they were reliable and fun but honestly, i had to come over to toyota to get a capable 4wd vehicle
and the 4runner has been perfect so far!
after driving around for the past few weeks, i noticed i'm sitting up quite a bit higher than other 4runners that i come across so i'm pretty sure it's lifted. the tires on it now are 265/75/16s and i have a good inch of clearance when i'm flexed out. unfortunately the used car dealer i bought it from kind of painted the undercarriage i guess in an attempt to make it look nicer... so all of the springs and shocks are black and i can't tell which lift it is.
i searched a lot for some threads that might have measurements from the center of the wheel to the fender but couldn't find anything. if anyone knows of any that show stock and/or lifted measurements, please link me so i can get a better idea about how much higher than stock this one is

the first thing i did besides some routine maintenance (fluids, spark plugs, etc.) was remove the running boards and the window bubble things, i'm sure some people enjoy them but i'm not a fan, and i needed to test out the suspension (i know i know, not an exciting off road adventure but it'll have to do for now until i can find some people to head out on some trails with)
