Hello to everyone. I am new to the SUV world as well as the 4Runner world. I did previously own a 2008 Scion xB. Anyways, I just purchased a 1999 4Runner Limited. So far I love the ride. It is much better than the WRX that I used to own except for the fact that I am still waiting for a turbo to kick in. I love working on cars, but do not know anything about these 4Runners. I would like to learn as much as I can about them. So far the biggest thing that I need to fix on the 4Runner is the front bumper. It has some rust issue on it. It is the painted bumper. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it up. What I was thinking I would do is take the bumper off and sand it down and clean it. Then I would try and find some matching paint to paint it with then put a couple coats of clear coat on top of the paint. Does that sound like a smart idea to anyone? I appreciate any help I can get. The things that I am planning on doing to it consist of retinting the windows, painting the wheels flat black, and a sound system. Now since I loved cars I have always replaced the exhaust on all of my vehicles. Are there any good suggestions on a nice sounding exhaust for this vehicle?
