Hey, I'm a n00b- here's the truck I picked up yesterday

No lockers, but I'm excited anyway. I'll add stuff to this thread if I do anything interesting to it.

Hey Notarex, welcome to the forums! And let me jump on two things before anybody else: Post some pics and info, and unless you desperately need the running boards, ditch them. It's like a free lift and you can sell them on Craigslist and save up for mods that are really cool!

It's got 150k, 4wd, no lockers. Dealer called the PO at my request, still on it's orig timing belt WTF. I said change that junk fool. They did T belt, idler, tensioner, water pump and threw in a radiator for S&G's. It's a nice truck, rides better than my subaru I traded in with 92k. Got it muddy on my way to the range today and tried out the 4wd. I ordered some Husky mats and am ordering a double din JVC head unit to replace the pos Clarion that's in there. Still mulling over the running board removal, I've got a young daughter who may use them someday, and there's not a lot of 4 wheeling in CT. Need to replace the LBJ's my uncle's wife just lost one on the road, what a disaster took out the whole front end.

Husky mats are in and I like them. Got them for cheap @ autoanything. Headunit went in smooth, I haven't ordered anything from Crutchfield in like 20 years- forgot how awesome they are. $129 shipped with some code I found online. No frills JVC goodness-

Next task is to tackle the rust on the frame and axle. I plan on wire brushing it piece by piece and then hitting it with "Poor"15 or rust bullet. It's worse than I thought, even though the topside looks nice.

Could just be me but it looks like you have a rear sag problem. Other than that nice ride and welcome. let the mods begin lol

I have the same head unit. Like you said, nothing special but it does all I need it to and I have a 4 channel amp hooked up to it.

Good luck with the 4Runner...and as someone else said....sh_ts about to get expensive! I have my lift sitting in the living room and ordering tires in the next week or so.
