Hey there, the name's John. Just picked up my first 4Runner and stumbled upon this site several times as I researched aftermarket goodies, so I figured this would be a good place to lay down my hat.
After about 4 months of searching for just the right Runner, I finally found the perfect candidate...a 2003 limited 4x with the 4.7, 5-speed auto, and every bell and whistle available from the factory in 2003.
I'm not new to wheeling in the least, just new to 4Runners. I've done plenty of wheeling & rock crawling in my XJ, but have since migrated more to the expedition type of trips and the XJ was geared more for the extreme stuff...so I decided to upgrade.
My Runner probably won't stay stock for long and will likely be over-outfitted (I tend to overbuild and overplan). I like to fabricate my own stuff, think of ways to engineer stuff, and do alot of research on things I plan to build or install. Hopefully I can become another valuable member of the forum.
I go by the same member name on numerous other forums on the web, so we may already know each other, spoken to each other, wheeled with each other, or at least have heard of one another at some point.
