I got my first 4Runner on Thursday! Don't think I could be more excited! I used to sell Toyotas on the South side of Chicago from 2004-2007 and always loved the 4Runners from those years, and it's always been my dream car.
Awhile ago I posted that I was looking for a 4th gen 4Runner and, as I've learned, there were pretty much NONE available anywhere for what I could afford within 1000 miles of me. I wanted an '03-'05 dark blue or the dark gray sport edition 4x4 and thought I'd never find one.
That was until last Friday when a customer drove up to my work with an '07 Sport Edition 4x4 Galactic Gray Mica V6. I asked him if he wanted to sell it and he gave me a firm "NO." We got to talking about other things, and Monday comes around and his wife called me and asked if I was serious about buying the truck. So I find out that is has 106k, it's in EXCELLENT condition inside and out, they have all the service records, AND it comes with a fully transferable bumper to bumper warranty that's good for another 26 months or 32,000 miles. Also, they bought brand new 2014 Tacoma wheels off a friend 2 months ago and put them on the 4Runner so brand new wheels and tires with less than 3k on them.
So I applied for financing right there and 2 days later they dropped it off at my work.
Only thing I've done so far (in 2 days haha) is I got the windows tinted today. Here she is:
Some things I'm thinking about doing is doing the wheels and grill either black or charcoal, and I'd like to get rid of the XREAS suspension just so if later I need new shocks asap I won't have to repair them. Not sure how to do it so I'll be searching the forum for it. Also going to look for some FJ or newer 4Runner wheels to swap on but not really sure how the fits work or what i need to do, so again, going to hit that search button! Can't wait to throw some miles and gravel under her!
