new 96 4runner limited owner with questions...

hello everyone...
just joined the forum so i could get some ideas/help.
I've just been given a '96 4runner limited with 200k miles....
With the high mileage and all, i was hoping i could get some advice on a possible engine swap? should i go OEM replacement? rebuilt or remanufactured? Is it possible for a v8? any recommendations on that?
Also as of right now, the car is an auto transmission... is it possible / worth it to switch to a manual?
any and all replies will be greatly appreciated. thanks

Welcome, why do you want to do a engine swap ? 200K it should still be going strong, Id be more worried about the ball joints myself, lol

As long as it's been taken care of, that engine still should have a lot of life left in it.

As for a V8 swap, idk if it is possible...if it is it would take lots of work to get the job done...same goes for the manual tranny.
