New and curious...

So i just registered because I'm about to buy a 93 4 runner.

Ive heard and read alot of great things about them. Most importantly is the reliability.

However im still having some concerns about the high mileage:

anyway here is the details.
"Options include leather interior, premium sound system front & rear A/C , power windows and locks, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, sliding sun roof, running boards, tinted rear windows, roof rack, tow package, and steel wheels. Also has a nice set of 4 Michelin ATX 31" tires on it."

Only problems... rear glass motor doesnt work, and of course a bit of rot on 3 wheel wells.

Picking it up for $1800. I figure that pretty short change for one. Seeing all the pics around this site have really gotten me charged up :)

So what advice/recommendations would you all have for me when i get it in my driveway :)

thanks

first off welcome! I am also a newer member (about a month) and I have to say that I love this forum! There are some really cool people. As for the rig it sounds to me like a pretty good deal. I have a 1st gen 86 runner myself and am building it for crawling. If you want to do any serious wheeling i would go with a locker for the rear and a solid front axle conversion. IFS gives you about 3 inches of travel compared to about 22 standard with a SFA and a 5 inch lift and 33's. I am in the building stage with my truck but this is what i have heard from alot of people. I love my lockright locker in the rear. I can go places now in 2WD that i couldnt go in 4wd before!!! Good luck and post some pics when you get the rig!!

Tranny cooler... Locker.. console upgrage.. IMO the sas is great if you plan on doing some serious offroading the stock axle will do just fine. These are trucks are surprisingly capable stock. Welcome to the site, tell your wallet I'm sorry.. You look around this site enough youll run out of cash before you run out of ideas..
