New around here...my 95

Since my girlfriend is pregnant, I knew I needed a bigger vehicle with more than 2 seats and 2 doors. I knew I wanted 4 wheel drive, 4 doors, manual trans, and reliability. After some research and knowing lots of people with different SUVs, I started looking real hard at the 4 runners. I looked at a bunch of them, and been lurking around this site for a few weeks, learning as much as I can. Besides the head gasket thing, I've heard nothing but great things about 4 runners.
I just bought mine today! It's a 95, and was very well taken care of by the original owner. Every time I get in it, I learn something new about it, and I like it even more! I know I bought it for her to haul the kid around, but I don't know if I can let it go, lol.
Here she is

Congratulations on both the new 4runner and the new upcoming baby! :) The truck looks very nice, very clean. :)

Welcome to the forum! :)

Thanks! This is a great site, and I'm sure I'll spend lots of time here. The truck is pretty clean for a 95, except for a small amount of rust on top of the tailgate along the rear window. The interior is like new...immaculate. It even smells new. I keep finding more and more I like about it. I just figured out that it has child locks on the rear doors, so a kid can't open them from the inside. I also like how you can't lock the doors if the door is open and the engine is running.
I'm going to check into the recall on the head gasket, and find out if mine is part of the recall. If it is, I'll see if I can get it done before the baby gets here, along with the timing belt and water pump, just for piece of mind.

Welcome!!!
Congrats on the baby!!!!!!!!!!

Great rig. Looks real nice.

From the traveling with a kid point of view, you'll love the height it has as soon as you place your kid into his baby seat without even bending your back (have 3 kids now- the elder is only 3 and a half years old so I really know what I’m talking about).

By the way, changing from a 2-seat car into a SUV with a baby coming reminded me of a movie called "9 Months" (1995 - Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore). Try driving more carefully than this guy ;):

All the best.

Love the color!

The down side is that little soon to be rug rat will TRY to ruin the inside of that nice truck.

Congrates and good luck:D
