I have a 99 SR5 V6.(279,000KM)and was having a problem for a couple of months with an engine miss at first start up in the morning.
The miss would disappear however after engine got up to full operating temperature.
Also the dash clock would periodically dim out totally.
At the last oil change the battery was checked and it was found to be down to about half capacity.
With the recent cold winter weather here and my weak battery, starting in the morning became very labored so I decided I had better get a new battery .
Installed the new battery and voila engine starts immediately, the cold start engine miss is gone and the clock is working perfectly.
Coincidence or what?
