i just change out a 2 year old toyota battery to a odyssey pc1700 mjt, it fits my base, but i had to put a peice of 3/4 inch wood and a 1/2 inch wood together at the top so my battery tie down to hold it in place, other than that i have no more dimming with my stereo system, the big 3 upgrade didnt help witht the old battery. but now it works.

i just swapped mine out this past weekend after six years with the autozone oem duralast gold... made a big difference as far as speediness to crank up the motor.

if your stereo dimmed with the last battery, you'll probably want to get a capacitor... is it a stock system or are you running aftermarket?

if it's aftermarket, go for a 1 farad cap...leaves room for expansion. :D

caps are useless man, itll crap my system even faster. the cap has to discharge and recharge, so its more work for the battery and alternator. well i love my odyssey pc1700 mjt, its the same as a stinger sp1700, but cheaper, kuss it is the same battery, i thought this battery wasnt gona fit, but i was wrong and it fit. anywayse i drive a base 96 so yea

i think you need to do some more research on caps. They could drastically extend the life of your battery and alternator.
read all about caps

the "like a water tower analogy is excellent."
