New Beach Season

Tomorrow starts the season for long island beach driving with 4x4 permit. It will be my first time taking my 15 TE onto the beach and was looking for some pointers. Sand is generally soft and loose. I know I need to air down, but how much? I also have proper recovery equitment; shovels, straps, jack and board etc... What drive mode would be best ? Will 4High be fine with the low pressure or would 4L with the locker be more ideal? Thanks for any help...

4HI or 4LO depending on speed, rocks, etc. Just take it easy and no rapid starts. ATRAC works if you've got it. No need for rear locker.
Also just received my over-sand permit/sticker today, looking forward to another year fishing and hanging. We usually go more off-season/year-round.

15-18psi, 4hi, no locker

What he said---

I run 15 on soft sand with oem tires. I have a trail so I use the Multi-Terrain set to "Sand" for either 4L or 4H. The locker may cause you to slide sideways on a slope, happened to me recently. The 4Runner did very well up dunes and I pulled out a Jeep stuck on the crest of a dune.

Go out and enjoy the sand. The T4R will surprise you on how well it does.
