New Blacked Out Headlights

I finally got around to blacking out the headlights on my Titanium Metallic 4R. Special thanks to HRunner and iFORCE. I basically followed both their DIY's to the tee. I decided to go with the "dont take your bumber off" option, though. This added a small amount of difficulty, as you have to really squeeze your hand under the truck to reach that last mounting bolt for the headlight structure. Also, I decided to not use the oven, but instead, I used a hot air gun. If you have a heat gun, I suggest using it. It is much easier than using the oven. I know this because I did each one using each different method. For anyone attempting to perform this mod, I would rate it at a 8.5/10 in difficulty. While my mod experience is limited, pulling apart the plastic pieces after heating the glue is much more like pulling Charlie Sheen off a gang of 20 hookers than "pulling a bag of chips apart" . Anyways, I will post some pics for you guys. I think it looks pretty damn good, but to each his own......

Yea I considered that. I read into both HRunner and iFORCE's DIY's and somewhere it was mentioned that the area that is painted does not attain any considerable heat. Mainly, the actual reflectors (the circles that stay chrome) are the only part of the light fixture that gain heat from the bulbs.

Damn nice job !! Seems like quite the undertaking to do this. The lamp/fixtures are sealed correct ? What was the thing you mentioned about front bumper removal ?

I would love to do that and match mine to Galactic Gray.

If you refer to these two threads, you will see that iFORCE had originally made a DIY involving a removal of the front bumper. HRunner found that it was possible to do it without removing the front bumper, and that is the way that I did it. I had an especially hard time removing the two pieces of plastic for some reason. I would allot around 3-4 hours for the mod, as you have to place multiple paint layers, and seperate the plastics. Good luck

I think it took me like 4 hours. Although, I got the light fixtures out of the truck in like 3 min. I guess this part went so damn fast because of the already mentioned tutorials. The hardest part is most definitely seperation and waiting on the 15 plus coats I used.
