new Boston speaker only works sometimes

Hello Everyone, I am new to the site and have just purchased a 2000 Limited 4Runner and absolutely love it. Has a Pioneer stereo and MTX Thunder Amp.
A couple of speakers were cracked so I had all new Boston speakers put in at an Audio Store, (and $$$).

Now, the clock stopped working altogether and the passenger speaker will not work. Although will cut in.

Please, any help would be appreciated. It is booked back at the Audio Store on Thursday, they think the amp. is not good and will be testing it. All the other speakers work except for the one whick works intermittently.

And as far as the clock not working at all now, they think that because all the wiring is done correctly now, it has messed up the circuit board. Sounds crazy to me, what do you guys or gals think. By the way I am female and am learning fast about my 2000 BlackBeauty by being on this site. txtxtxtx

What all did the Audio store do other than replace the speakers? Did they install or repair anything else in there?

$100 says when they replaced the headunit the plugged the clock wire into the wrong plug, it's very easy to do. Also there could be some loose wires running to the speaker, causing it to turn on and off intermittently.

Audio store installed the new speakers and had to rewire some wires properly to the amp.
Also, we had a new remote start put in at the same time. My 4runner had the existing command start wired in, but that was all removed for the new remote start.

Definitely sounds like a loose wire. Both should be easy fixes that they should take care of for free.

Back from Audio store, clock is now working - came loose when new wires for speakers put in.
Front speaker that comes in and out - not fixed, as he says it is the amp. needs to be warmed up for it to work, no way for loose connection. And as always, the speaker was working when I got there, so he couldn't check the amp or anything. Will , just live with that I guess, until my female braveness kicks in to look at the speaker myself.

I wouldn't settle for that personally. If its a new amp they should fix it. If it's an old amp that you already had, an easy test to identify if its the speaker or the amp would be to move the left speaker to the right output and the right speaker to the left output.

If it truly is the amp, then that test would cause the opposite speaker to intermittently work.

That sounds easy enough, I will try that. It is not a new amp. Thank you so much for that suggestion, the Audio store should have thought of that you would think.
