New BudBuilt Skid - What Color?

Ok, chime in. What color should I paint my new front skid? To save cash, I went with one un-powder coated skid for now.

I have a nautical blue metallic truck. It's a DD for my wife, so nothing too flashy. No black; I want to be able to look under and check clearance, etc.

Btw, the quality of Budbuilt skids is pretty amazing.

Not the best paint job I've done, but it will work. Hindsight, I should have gotten it powder coated.

Oh, and I stripped one bolt getting the factory skid off. I had to cut the bas****.

I wouldn't ever powdercoat a skid, it's meant to get scraped up.

Ya leave it un-painted and since it looks like it's already got a bare aluminum/silvery finish to it, it gives a nice good contrast to your nautical blue truck.

Im sure it did have the look you are describing to a degree, but in the picture I believe he has already painted it?

I liked the look of it bare, but was worried it was going to rust.

You can clear coat an unpainted surface with a rattle can to protect it from rust.

Where were you guys last week before I spent two days priming, painting and sealing...

Oh well, I can always have a local shop blast it in the spring if I bang it up good in the next few months.

I'm not sure if anyone else does this, but the DOT tape works wonders for checking clearances in lower light. It will get banged up, but I will just reapply as needed.
