New Castrol fluid for Type IV

My lubricant salesman told me today that Castrol has come out with a new fluid that is comparable to Toyota Type IV trans fluid. I am going to see him next week so I will get some more info from him. BTW he told me that Toyota oil that you buy at the dealer is Mobil and the factory oil Mobil also. He said Mobil pretty much makes all the fluids for Toyota. He did not know who made there antifreeze, thats what I want to know.

In Canada Toyota dealerships are serviced by Esso. Be very cautious about the wording around the Castrol product. They may make a claim that the product is "suitable for use", look for the actual OEM approval.

I have the pink stuff that is supposed to be changed every 30k miles. So I am assuming that it is normal anti-freeze and can be replaced with any other brand? I recently drained two gallons out and replaced it with Toyota stuff at a cost of $ 17/gal. If the pink stuff were compatible with other types than it would save some money each year. Soon I will look for the engine coolant drain, if there is one so I can do a more through job.
