New Coils Installed

I just couldn't stand the sagged factory coils any longer and decided to replace them. I used 881 coils in the front and 906 in the back. I also finally washed the truck so I thought I'd post a few pics:

I also picked up a sway bar bushing kit and poly bumpstop kit and installed those. I plan to order a few parts from McMaster and make a set of extended anti-sway bar links for the front.

Overall, I am extremely happy with the way it rides! These coils are a great improvement over the 200K+ mi stock coils....

SWEET! I love the way my new OMEs ride too. Congrats! Now I think you should take the running boards off and show off that new lift!
 
Oh, I'd love to....but the wife and kid like having them there, so they'll stay. I'll try to damage them and that should justify a trip over to Shrockworks for a set of rock rails....:)

I can't wait until somebody makes a true hybrid running board slider... Sometimes life just requires running boards!

Yep, my wife already hates getting into my jeep...it sits quite a bit higher and the sliders/rails are bolted to the bottom of the tub. When I mentioned removing the running boards on the 4R, the idea was immediately shot down...

LOL got to learn the tricks man!!
i sold mine before she could object! :0)

we just end up taking her car more often than mine now... of course, shes only like 5'4 and I have to pull myself up a bit to get in and Im 5'10

She drives an '05 Corolla....it's a struggle for me to fit in that car with a carseat in the back.

Those tires are staying! They only have about 2Kmi on them.

As for the obsession, I knew that before I got into this. We own three cars now and I cant help but mess with every single one of them!

2k is perfect to sell!! :0) LOL we are really bad trying to get you to do more mods to your Runner!! :0)
 
what were your front and rear fender to ground measurements after the lift if you don't mind me asking. Gonna do the same lift and wanted to know how level it sits. Thanks. Lift looks good tho.

I dont think my measurements would help you any. My coils were badly sagged from years of abuse. I measured the rear when I put them in and they were 4" taller...and the 906 coils were only 1/2" taller when sitting on the ground next to the stock coils.

sweet !!!! i might be a bug and bother you for a moment , but is it possible to post exactly what you did,, inm new to this OME coils thing,, and i have a 97 sr5 exactly like yours,, love the tires, love the height ..
but i dont know any of your info, like rims size, or tires size, what kind of tires,, what kind of springs and difference in numbers etc etc,, im sorry to bother you about this,, but i finally found soomeone wit exact color and style as mine, and i love it,,

i also have sag in the rear of my T4R, but im clueless about what to find to fix it,,

What size tires are you currently running? Also the after lift measurements would specify the approximate ride height of any vehicle with those springs. It shouldn't matter how saggy your springs were before. Hope that made sense...

Well, here is a write up that I did on how to install coil spacers front and rear:

The process for installing the springs would be exactly the same, but instead of installing spacers, you'll swap out the coils.

The tires are 265x70xR16 BFG ATs.

I installed Old Man Emu 881 coils in the front and 906 coils in the back.

Ahh...yeah, I read his request wrong...I thought he was asking for the differences.

I measure the drivers side (full tank of gas) sitting as you see it in the pictures as the following:

Front - 38.5"
Rear - 38"

THANKS,,,, Im riding on (ran outside to get the numbers) lol... 225/75/r15 OMG,,, THERE 15" RIMS,,lol..enkei rims,, (yuck).. i think the spare tire all black looks better,,lol,,, i have my eye on 2006 tundra 17" rims,, but again im lost in the tires once i get them,,
