New CV Axles

After reading through multiple threads on how to replace torn CV boots i decided to follow the majority of the comments, "REPLACE THE WHOLE DAMN AXLE". So i did and i ordered them from here.

CVJ Axles - Remanufactured Axles & Power Racks

I ordered both the left and right replacement axles with neoprene boots. Total out of pocket was 69.99 per axle +30 dollar core.

Now just a few questions

Is that a fairly reasonable price?

My left boot has about a 1" tear in it at the base, am i ok driving it until the new ones show up? If i am are theyre any quick fixes so i dont have a grease sprinkler under the rig?

Thanks for all the incoming input!

You should be o.k. for a while, hell people have driven thousands of miles with torn boots. Maybe throw a little duct tape around it to slow down the spray?

I think the price is ok. and about the rip on your boot. It will also be ok, the CV could live with a broken boot for a long while until you will start hearing rumbling noise. When you hear that noise that means it better be fix soon.

But since according to you description it is still shooting out grease it is fine to keep driving on it.

About the quick fix.....That I dont know:shrug:.....Duck tape :D quick fix for everything lol
