Been lurking for a while not so figured I would introduce my self and my rig. Due to life events I ended up having to get rid of a 2009 Double Cab SR5 4X4 Tacoma with only 6500 miles on it and a 2002 Jeep Wrangler. I picked this 2001 SR5 4X4 4Runner in December 2010 with a little over 174,000 on the odometer. But as my luck was at the time almost immediately after purchase it got totaled in a hail storm. I decided to buy it back from the insurance company, slap a new windshield on it, and drive it anyway. My plan was to drive it until the wheels fell off as is, but of course that did not last. It did stay like that for about a year, however.
Here it is as of 08/28/12. I call it "Bones"

I first picked up a sport hood to replace the hail damaged one. It is green and still needs to be painted, but hey.

I also plasti-dipped the emblems and grill, removed the running boards, installed a new head unit with amp and 10" sub. Then came a Westin brush guard off of craigslist and some Hella black magic lights I had sitting in the garage. Also an Outdoor Logic antennae mount with Firestik on the driver's side.

I then finally got around to doing some much needed maintenance. I replaced the valve cover gaskets, new plugs (NGK) and plug wires (Denso), Seafoamed the engine, etc.

As well as, gave it a good interior detailing. (Girlfriend in the pic helping out).

Scored a deal on a set of 2005 Tundra 17" rims w/ Kuhmo AT 265/70/17 tires off of craigslist as my 265/70/16 tires on the five stars were about gone.

The front right corner of the bumper was pushed in, however, from a wreck the previous owner had in it. Wasn't very noticable until I put the larger tires on and had some rubbing issues on that side. I had already picked up a new front bumper w/ valence, brackets, and reinforcement to go on her and the plan was to get it all painted up with the hood prior to installing. But w/ the rubbing issue I went ahead and threw it on. While everything was off I took care of the rust on the brush guard and repainted it, hit the plastic transition piece with some Krylon Fusion, and a few other odds and ends. Also had to weld up one of the mounts on the new bumper as it had already popped loose.

Future plans are uncertain. Trying to decide if I should keep modding this one even with the hail damage or see if I can't find one with an e-locker that I can start over with. At this time "Bones" will have to do. Either way I want to give it a 2.5-3" suspension lift and avoid a body lift. Next big project will probably be the TBU, though. I have already started pricing the calipers around town. I would like to replace the rear bumper (or at least black it out at some time), and get the hood painted. Time and money are still both at a premium right now but that should get better after this December.
Well, she ain't much (yet). But she is mine and will get there eventually. I have several other pics but figured you guys only wanted some of the highlights. Thanks for all of the information I have already gotten from this site. And curse you all for the ideas everyone keeps giving me that will cost me time and money for some time to come.:thumb3:
