Hey guys, great stuff on here. :tongue:
I'm looking to buy a later 3rd gen and would like to know what your opinion on this vehicle is.

1996 Toyota 4Runner LTD SUV - Alberta Cars For Sale - Kijiji Alberta Canada.

Im not sure if 307,000Km is too much on these engines.

Looks like a nice truck. 2nd owner with records, I'd feel pretty safe buying it. 300+K is not bad for these engines, as long as they've been maintained it'll still have lots of life left.

Things to check, rear axle seals, cycle the transfer case, check the rear diff lock (if it hasn't been used all those km's it might not engage), pink milkshake coolant (3rd gen section has info. on this).

Generally speaking though with proper maintenance it will still go a long time yet. I'd talk them down though, I sold my 96 w/ 265KMs almost 2 years ago for $5000.

EDIT: Almost forgot, timing belt/water pump. Make sure that's up to date. Costly item (but routine maintenance) to do, could be a negotiating tool if it's due for replacement.
