New from Joplin, Mo

Just recently bought a 1995 4R sr5 to replace what was damaged from the tornado here.

Glad to have joined the T4R family. I'm new to 4x4 rigs so I'm itching to learn. Can't wait till I pay it off so I can begin modding it!

Great looking Rig, welcome to the site, glad to have you here

I've been following a thread over on the American Weather Forums thats being constantly updated by another member over there who's also from Joplin. Amazing the destruction that occured. Even more amazing though is the pace at which it seems you're rebuilding your town. Again, welcome to the site, i'm sure you'll find everything you could possibly ever want to know about these trucks.

Glad to be here!

And yes, the destruction was unfathomable. The Clean up is moving very quickly though. It's amazing.

good luck

nice looking clean truck in great shape. good luck w/ the truck and w/ everything going on in joplin. I'm from NJ but Joplin has a special place in my heart - my kids were born at Freeman Hospital 3.5 years ago and I spent a few weeks out there. Good Luck!

The truck has been awesome for the week I've had it :). When I bought it I did have to go get some recall work on it (steering mechanism) but thats the only thing. Its not perfect, looks better than most '95 cars, but still has some imperfections. I love it though. Does what I need it to do. Hopefully after I pay it off I will start to off-road some. Treading Lightly of course.

Speaking of Tread Lightly, does anyone know where I can get some window stickers that say that?

Sorry about your previous car! My car was totaled in the tornado of May 2008 in Neosho, I feel your pain. Glad you were ok though. Im actually looking for 4Runner right now, hoping to find one soon. Yours looks great!

Awesome! I wish you luck in your hunt. Glad to know there are others 4r in my area. I can honestly say, after having my 4R for a week now, I don't think I ever wanna own a different truck. :) I'd always been a Ford fan (driven two different mustangs before turning 19) But Toyota has completely stolen my heart.

Thanks! I actually was considering a Tacoma but Ive always liked 4Runners and never had one. Selling my Mazda3, which I like a lot, but Id like to pay off some things. I had an 86 Toyota Corolla back in 2000 when I first started driving...that thing was a piece o' crap haha, my sister had a wreck in it and I got stuck driving to school in that thing. My dad also had to set the idle really high because it would die everytime you stopped so I never really had to hit the gas all the way there, it'd just take off when you let off the brake! We called it The Viper :) Sorry Im rambling, but I work at a printing company and we dont do decals here but I know of places you could probably get a custom one made at. I meant to say that earlier.

I've contemplated custom made. I don't wanna deal with anything copyright wise. I don't want to get in trouble for a sticker.

Everytime I look at your truck i'm really digging that black molding down the side. Im seriously contemplating finding a way to retrofit that to my 01 :frog:

wow...I am a sorry, apparently Ive never even heard of Tread Lightly until I just now googled it. If I wouldve known I wouldnt have made that suggestion haha...sorry!

@Habanero: Yeah it's pretty messed up... We just gotta work through it and rebuild bigger and better. Also, Thank you for the links! p.s Thank you for not taking the "gawk" route. It hurts to see people driving through just to see the destruction. You wouldn't imagine some of the people, they think we are an attraction of some kind.

@00negative: Don't worry about it! It's no problem at all.
