Hey guys,

I've been out of the Toyota realm for about a year.I've had a few Yota's, My last rig was an 89 Single Cab with a built 22re with a TRD Cam, Bored .30 over, Downey Headers,5.29's,Front ARB,Rear Powertrax Locker, 4.7:1 in the t-case from inchworm, on sequoia wheels wrapped in 315 BFG Ko's.Should've never sold her..

But as life does, I was thrown a few curve balls and my commute grew and my finances diminished.I got a better job and got myself stable.

Decided to look for a new rig.Been considering Tacoma's and 4runner's 96-04.

My girlfriend suggested a 4runner actually(love her), and I've run with the idea.

I would like a 96-01 4runner Limited 4x4, with the e-locker,and preferably a 5 speed manual with under 150k.It will be a daily driver/light trail rig.

I'm currently looking and have seen a couple nice ones, nothing that got me ready to go to the bank. What years did the 5 speed come in?

I may consider auto but I've driven manual most of my life.

Can't wait to start contributing.

Thanks,

Logan

If your looking at a 3rd gen, look at a 98-01(correct me if im wrong on years) with the factory e-locker. You would be surprised at the number of good 4runners you can find if you take the time to look. Good luck with your search!

I feel weird welcoming someone to a forum where I myself only have a few posts on....but welcome man! From one noob, and Sacramentan, to another.

I have also been in financial lingo being laid off twice from the construction industry and trying to find a new career path. I had a 98 4runner before, head gasket blew and I couldn't afford the fix so I sold it. My girl insisted I get a brand new Scion (on her credit) even though I wanted another used 4runner. So I broke up with her and now I am happily in love with my 2002 T4R! Haha

So anyways, welcome!

Yeah my girl doesn't have credit like that anyways, and I doubt I would fit in a scion too well either.I've changed my career path, and it seems to be working.Went from dirty boots to a suit and tie.Don't exactly like working indoors.

Thanks for the info I'm searching now.Knowing my stubbornness I won't settle until I get a 5 speed.

I'll look for a 99-00 Highland or "Sport" model since they come with a 5 speed and the locker.I remember seeing one about a year ago, wish I would have had the cash then.

Hood scoop looks kinda cool too.

Maybe I'll have to settle for an auto..
