I just recently got a 1993 SR5 4runner. It has a issue with overheating, I have it narrowed down to a water pump, or headgasket. I got a good deal on it so not to worried about it. It is pretty much stock, but would like to lift it and make a good trail truck. Looking to learn a lot on this site and hope to build a good family trail truck.

What makes you think head gasket?

Where at in WA are you from?

Headgasket is worst case. I just know these 3 liters are known for head gasket issues. But I am hoping and thinking its a water pump or radiator. It heats up to operating temp within a mile. The thermostat keeps it at that temp for about 20 milesthen its starts to boil over and over heats.

I live out in yelm by the way.
