New Gen 3 Owner!!

Happily a Tacoma owner since 2006, I’ve been looking for a 3rd gen for my son and I (he will be 16 soon). Located a very clean limited with an initially two year lease, then a single owner since 2000. Very excited, it has just over 200,000 which worries me when I started looking BUT no so much with all I’ve read.

I’ve ordered Powerstop rotors and Akebono pads as my first DIY to tackle with my son. Actually, my first DIY was adding an Alpine IlW650 head unit. Looking forward to learning about these awesome machines!

Nice. Enjoy it. No worries about 200k. I’m about to turn 200k and I swear my 98 is more dependable than a new truck.

Perfect platform to teach your son the basics and there’s no shortage of appropriate projects for that you’ll find in here. You’ve found mtbtim videos? A new wrench can watch his videos and then it’s like Legos.

Super clean truck. Steering wheel cover sticks out a bit, there’s some solutions in here if that’s of interest.

Lower ball joints, diff breathers, and old radiator/trans cooler should be tops on your list. Good luck and have fun! Looks just like mine when I got it.

Yeah I agree about the cover, was concerned the steering wheel might have cosmetic damage? I’ll look around for info/solutions.
