New Gen 5, and still my Gen 3, #twoscoops

Just surprised my wife this week with a 2016 Trail Edition.

She had no idea, as I had it parked outside our favorite sushi place, and we took my 2001 to pickup dinner. Came out of the taproom we usually have a beer at while waiting for sushi takeout and: "babe, hold this", twas the new key. It was the exact one she wanted, as we had driven a couple. She had been out of town for a few days, had no idea.

Now, I have the best of both worlds, and I STILL LOVE MY GEN 3. It's not going anywhere....

Next, gotta level the Trail, without messing with the KDSS/Ride Quality.

Yeah, my 2002 Sport was a damn good truck.

I just couldn't justify keeping it around and having two.

I also have a cardinal rule that I never sell a vehicle I have loved and babied to friends or relatives because I did that once in my life and the acquaintance I sold it to beat the shit out of the car and it sort of broke my heart knowing a vehicle that perfect was basically junk after 2 years.

So... I just trade them in and I don't want to know what happens after that.

But congrats on your new 4Runner. They are great vehicles (just like most of them historically have been - We'll leave the POS 3.0's out of that category).

I owned more 3rd Gens than probably anyone. They're great vehicles. Good choice.

Love them both but would, and likely will, sell the 5thGen before I ever sell the 3rd.

My wife will get a white T4R SR5 Premium next year once her lease is up on her Hyundai Santa Fe. She wants TRD Pro wheels and tinted windows. I am happy with my 3rd Gen 4runner and Nissan Xterra.

I drive by a really nice stock 3rd gen every day. I am jelly, it's awesome and I want it.

I still regret selling my 3rd gen. Actually, I still regret selling my 5th gen too.

I've owned a lot of different vehicles and those are the only two that I really regret getting rid of.

My only mistake was never keeping my 3rd Gen! It's still going strong even after I let it go with 260,000 miles in it!

Congrats! We also added a 5th gen to accompany our 3rd gen a little over 3 years ago.
