New Guy from Virginia

Howdy all!

I'm not an owner yet, but I should be in a week or three, as soon as I get some questions sorted out and track down the right 'runner. After perusing the interwebz in search of answers to my questions, I've found most of them right here, so I figured this was the place to be. . .

About me? I'm a high-school history teacher from Northwestern Virginia; I've got more hobbies than I have money, sense, or talent, combined with champagne tastes on a Bud-Lite budget. Makes for fun times. I live up on a mountain with crappy roads beset with ice and snow in the winter. The 4runner will be my daily driver. I almost certainly won't be off-roading the way the big-boys do, but I do need a reliable, family-friendly ride with the ability to plow through snow, drive over banks around incompetent morons stuck sideways in the road, and generally get my wife and kids out and about regardless of the road conditions. After much looking, it seems the 4runner is the best thing going for all of this.

Anyway, glad to be here, and looking forward to getting a 4runner asap!

Score!

Got myself a 2003 SR5 V8 in Stratosphere Mica with 110,000 miles on her for $11,800. Single owner, garage kept; she's in fantastic shape. She's already got a OME 3" lift, so that's one less thing I'll have to fight with the wife about :D

Now, to spend absurd amounts of money on off-road upgrades . . .
