New guy here. Just picked up a T4R.

This is my first 4runner but my second toyota truck, my last was a 99' Prerunner TRD 3.4 ext cab. I just brought her home today and I'm not a stock kinda guy. I am a complete newb to modding a toyota so I'll need some help.
I've been lurking on here for a little while so i have an idea of what i want. I would like to level the front, possible spacers and I'm definitly gonna remove the running boards and go with some sliders. I plan to make it a much more capable off-roader but I'll need to keep it kinda tame for now. I do Real Estate and this is my ride. Here's my new baby! 2007 Limited 4wd V6.

Any suggestions for components would be great. I know the tires are worthless off-road so I may get another set of wheels/tires for wheelin and keep these for daily use.

No Nav. yeah, I havent checked out the stickies yet, I've been too busy looking at the lifted threads getting an idea on where I want to go!
 
Welcome! I'm new too. I've been lurking for a couple weeks and just bought a 2006 SE 4WD two days ago. I'm with you about not keeping my vehicles stock. Looking forward ti your progress.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited, I've been eyeballin another toyota for a long time and now that I have it I cant believe it took me so long.:bash:

Thanks for the info. I thought I've read somewhere about the daystar spacers. Is that 2.5 in the front and 1.5 rear? Is the 235/70r17 tha biggest I can go with that combo?
I read in the owners manual that my model has a lockable transfer case, is that right? Does anybody install lockers on their 4runners or do they come with a pretty good LSD already.

ive got 285/75r16 (33's) on the ds kit
 
I ordered the Daystar 2.5/1.5 today and they should be in by wedsday. I'll probably come in to work and install them on saturday. Getting there little by little. I'll probably order the Shrockworks Sliders next. I seem to have read that they take awhile to come in.
 
Its a bummer that my wheels are 18". There doesnt seem to be a big selection on offroad tires in that size. Anybody have 17"s they would trade for my 18"?
 
it has a clean carfax, one owner and 83k. I paid $19,988 before TTT. $22058.00 OTD. Body is in perfect shape except for a scratch or two but thats minor compared to the tree branch pinstripping thats sure to come! In fact, I dont think its even been off-road. the underbody is clean!

Grats on the new Runner! For the 4th Gen 4Runners, only the 2009 Trail Edition came with a locking rear diff. For those who need lockers, ARB lockers are the choice most go with. Your 4Runner uses the ATRAC system. You are headed in the right direction with a lift, tires and sliders. You would be amazed at the off road capabilities your 4Runner has with ATRAC. Do a search and you'll probably find answers to all your questions. Enjoy modding your runner and the places it takes you.

Its so funny that you replied to my thread. Your rig is my wallpaper! Its the shot from the R/R qtr in front of a house! Sweet rig BTW, thats my goal for mine when I get another car for my job and the T4R is my play toy!

No problem. Price is pretty subjective. There are so many contributing factors to price a used vehicle, market, condition, colors, etc. I think I got a smokin deal. In my area the vehicle I bought is going for around mid $20s with similar or more miles.
