Hello everyone - purchased a 2002 Sport Edition 2wd this weekend to replace an Acura TL I totaled just before Thanksgiving. Looking forward to getting to know you guys and getting a couple mods under my belt.

This isn't my first Toyota, but it is my first 4Runner. Here's a bigger version of my avatar pic:

Thanks, Rip. Looking forward to a couple power mods. As I'm looking around, can you guys point me to a list of "must do" mods to get me started? I'm bone stock as of today.

Look through peoples' build threads. There are a few beginner mods listed in the Buyer's Guide sticky also.

Start with Maintenance, then do mods.

Welcome from west of the border.

Not too much to do as far as power goes. TRD supercharger or remote mount turbo setups seem to be most prominent.

Looks good! I am in ATL as well so let me know if you want to go wheeling/ help with mods.. ect. Congrats and Welcome!

RunningInGA,

Where at in Marrietta. I'm here too, but for school. I'm over at Southern Poly. Let me know if you ever need any help with any mods.

Thanks bro. I'm west of the Square along Whitlock before it hits Barrett Parkway. Let me know as well. The Acura I totaled was heavily modded so I'm no stranger to the "shade tree." I've got the tools and access to a welder and sporadic access to a lift if necessary.

While I learn the site and get familiar with everything (including the Search button, SA's) can anyone suggest a brighter headlight bulb replacement? My Acura had 4300K HIDs, which the space shuttle could see and I feel blind in this truck at night on dark roads. I don't want to a projector retrofit or anything replacing the stock lamps if possible. Thanks in advance guys and girls.

Nice man, Thats a solid 5-10 minutes down the road. I'm on the corner of South Marietta and Cobb Parkway. Hit me up sometime and we'll have to check out each others ride.

As far as the HID, you should be able to do a bulb and ballast kit. They are just plug and play systems. Figure out which type of bulb you need and here's a link to the system I'm about to coin out some money for.

I'll check into these kits, but on my Acura I installed HID fogs (with a fog mod) and went through about 4 ballasts and several blown (some blown up!) bulbs in a 3 year period. Unless these kits are of higher quality and can be aimed better than the ones I used in my fogs, I'll look for a halogen replacement.

Let's definitely get together - I'm swamped with work until after Christmas, but a quick weekend meet up could definitely work.
