Just bought a 98 Limited, black and dark gray 2 tone. It has 170k miles on it, just had the securikey+ system removed as it was messing with the ignition and leaving me stranded. It seems to be a great running truck other than the ignition issue.
It needed tires, so I put on 265/75/R16 BFG Rugged Terrain TAs. Hoping to get an iPhone friendly stereo installed by the weekend. After that, the Wet Okole seat covers will be on the way to hide the bad leather, and also to look really cool and, apparently, be really comfortable. Got samples on the way to determine the colors I want, and I'm still on the fence about their standard covers, or going with full piping. If anybody has color code suggestions for the oak leather interior, I'd appreciate the input.
I don't plan to do much else to her at the moment, but if she hangs on mechanically, I may end up building her up more.
We sold our lifted 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X and used the cash from that sale to buy this T4R as a daily driver (see Dave Ramsey). So far we think it gets twice the mileage that the JK got, and the motor seems stronger too even though it is a 3.4 and the JK had a 4.0.
I think we got a good truck. And it's paid for. It will mostly live on the road to work with occasional trips into the forests of Arkansas for camping, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, and photography.
