New guy! NOVA

Hello my fellow 4Runner lovers. I kind of fell into 4Runners, being a prior Jeep guy. I have always had a 4x4...so when I moved to Florida, it went Jeep-Corvette-Yukon-Minivan.......so now I have a 4Runner, a minivan, and a commute car.....and I think I it is safe to say I am a 4Runner convert.

This is my baby http://www.toyota-4runner.org/sale-vehicles/157943-1997-3rd-gen-4runner-limited-%243500-firm-va.html

(yes, I tried to sell it)......I will admit, I had a little bit of buyers remorse....but I haven't received even a nibble on it, so I think I shall keep her. Did I do too terrible at $3500?

So far I have received a set of 906 rears from East Coast, ordered via Advance Auto Parts (20% off and a $50 credit for your next purchase of $100 or more going on right now) everything I need to do a complete fluid swap (except the tranny, might have that flushed at a shop), and lastly have a Koyo radiator inbound from Ebay (the milkshake stories on here have scared me silly). Plan to buy a set of bilstein 5100's and a set of OME 881's for up front as soon as Wheeler's comes back to work. Plan to do a differential drop too even though it is a mild lift.

The body has a few dings, and the hood needs resprayed, but that is okay. I might get crazy and repaint the thing one of these days (thinking a metallic silver would be nice) after I remove all that Limited crap off the side....but something can be said for a vehicle you don't care if someone door dings you.

Anyways, look forward to being a member on here and hope to meet some of the local folks. Maybe trade beer for knowledge. Thanks and take care.

3500 isn't bad. Thats less than a friend of mine just paid for a 98 with 2wd. A 3rd gen is better in my book than a 4th gen with a V8, but you can always do a 4.7 swap.

Welcome to the forums! Happy to see a person who has owned both a jeep and a 4Runner. Yota for life!

I agree with TNRunner99. $3.5K is pretty good.

By the way, if you're gonna get rid of the limited crap on the sides, let me know! I may be buying a used armor bumper through this forum, but there's a chance it will be the limited/wide version. Therefore, getting fenders to match may help me in the long run.

Thank you gents for the warm welcome.

I still do love my Jeeps....just waiting for Jeep to wake up and release one with a diesel. The day they do, I may be parting ways with my 4runner.

I'll let you know if I decide to "de-limit" my 4runner. I am pretty far out from tackling the cosmetic stuff, but will let you know if I do.

I ran a can of SeaFoam through the gas tank today. I can definitely tell a difference in power and pickup.

Welcome! I am a fellow Wrangler/ 4runner owner too. This site is full of great information. Lots of knowledgable people here so do don't hesitate to ask questions.
