hey everyone. my name is corey im 20 and deployed in iraq. i have 1997 sr5 runner. i just bought the ome 3" lift and the 3" bl. one question i have is can i run 33x12.5x16 tires and if so how much trimming am i goingto need? thank you for eveything (i'm ganna try to post a pic of my runner)

i don't have much experience with lifts and such, but with 6" of lift you might even be able to go bigger that 33" tires. I'd use the search function and check out www.yotatech.com

That's the exact combo I have. You won't need to do any trimming to get the 33's to fit. I do get a slight rub sometimes when I'm at full turn.

thank you for the info another question is do i need wheel spacers? also can i run 35"? thank you again i cant wait to get out the sand box and work on my t4r.

You won't need spacers with 33" tires. You can fit 35" tires with this lift but I would regear before I moved to a taller tire. If you do need spacers make sure you buy a quality set.

I've never looked into proper gearing with 35's so I can't say for sure. Hopefully someone who knows will chime in or maybe search www.yotatech.com .

monsoncorey, what size engine do you have? Also, is it a 5spd or Auto?

I've see a lot of guys w/ V6 4Runners auto and manuals alike, all run 4.88s or higher w/ 35s.

i dont know what size it is all i know is its the v6 in the sr5's. also it is an auto. and only 2wd i know that im not going off roading but i hate stock cars/trucks.

If you are a V6 2wd auto, there are two diff ratios that you may have. 3.7's if you had 225/75 tires, or 4.1's if you got the 265/70 tires.
If you got the 3.7 diff gears, then I think you will want to move up to at least 4.1's (or higher) with 33" tires. Other wise you will notice a big reduction in fuel economy and torque at the wheels.
If you got the 4.1 diff gears you should be ok with 33's but will again see a drop in milage.
My vehicle id labels indicate I have 3.9 diffs on my 4wd auto, but I got it with the 265/70 tires which means the diffs should have been upgraded to 4.1's. I haven't officially worked out what I have yet, but with the 265/75 (32's) that I have on now, I am not totally satisfied with the ratios, especially off road, so I will get some 4.3's soon.

All V6 3rd Gens came w/ the 3.4L engine.

Therefore, if you plan on running 33" tires on a V6, auto trans 4Runner and never plan to take it off road, I personally believe 4.56 gears are the best match. You can always go to a 4.88 (or higher) if you want, but I feel you'll experience higher revs at higher speeds.

Now if you ever plan to run 35's, then go straight to 4.88s. You may experience higher revs at hwy speeds w/ 4.88s and 33" tires, but if 35's are in your future, then go ahead and opt for the 4.88s now. Do it once and be done with it. 4.88s are a good match for 35's.

I'm currently running 32s on stock 4.10 gearing on my '02 Sport. These gears do "okay" with 32s, but 4.30s would do better IMO. My mpgs suffer a little and so does my overall power. I plan to up my tire size to 33s in the future and will definitely regear to 4.56s. I've already talked to guys that run 33s and say the 4.56s are the perfect for 33s. I've also talked to guys that run 4.88s w/ 33s, and they like the lower gearing. However, their intentions are more for better off road capabilities.
