New Head Unit for '07 Limited

I'm looking to install a Sony XAV-60 receiver into my new '07 limited. Crutchfield says that its compatible with the '07 but I have two other issues I need answered:

1.) Does installing an aftermarket head unit mean anything for the stock 6-disk in dash CD player? Or can I just install the HU and the 6-disk works fine?

2.) Secondly, Do i need to purchase/install a PAC-SWI-PS adapter for the steering wheel controls? Or will the 07 steering wheel controls simply continue to work with an aftermarket HU?

Any direct/help is most appreciated!

1) I'm assuming the headunit is replacing the factory unit, which means it would also be replacing the changer. Remember, we insert one disc at a time in, we dont fill a sleeve of CDs in an auxilary changer that can be hooked up to another unit. I could be wrong but my guess is you'll lose the 6-disc

2) I remember reading somewhere that the steering wheel controls would not work if you put in an aftermarket HU. Didn't know they had an adapter for them but I'm assuming you'd have to use it.

I personally haven't changed the audio components yet but I know plenty others have. I'm sure they'll be able to give better info but I thought I'd give my .02

1) 6 disc changer is built into the factory head unit. Replace the head unit and you will lose the 6 disc changer unless your replacement of choice has one or you add an external one.

2) Steering wheel controls will need some sort of adapter to function with a different head unit.

What model number is your current factory head unit? I am replacing mine as well and am trying to figure out similar questions. I have a sport model though so we may have different head units to start with.
