New Here & Have ???

I just purchased a 1987 4runner SR5 with all options or at least everything I can think of. It was a one owner vehicle with 181k. All stock and in pretty good shape. Everything seems to work. I am wondering about the sagging back end. I assume the leafs are shot and thats what is causing this? And if so, where and how much can I expect to spend buy new ones and replace myself? Also, I dont have the owners manual, I need a brake light switch I think. Is there a good source for parts etc besides the dealer? What can be done in regards to a mod for power increase? Its EFI so I might be stuck with what I got..

Anyways, I look forward to hanging around picking up a few pointers and any answers to the questions above would be much appreciated...

Howdy,

Don't go to the dealer. I have an '88 and and for 1 spring they want around 300 bucks.

I have some sag in the back too and would appreciate any info on this subject as well.

Cheers

Yeah, your rear leaf packs are shot. You can get OEM equivalents from places like JC Whitney, or some with some lift.

Old Man Emu makes some really nice 2" lift springs that have excellent ride and handling. I just got a set to put on my 84.
