from the cutoff it looks like a factory housing still, but i may be wrong

Using the factory housing, no need for projectors. I got the 35w 4500k from DDM Tuning. It even arrived a day early. Install was very easy and they fired right up the first time. So far no one has flashed me.

It looks good but I imagine the people that would flash you would be the people your driving behind if it were possible. Again I think it looks good, but people who have the plug n' play or improper retrofit HIDs are the reason I decided to tint my front side windows again. I like the color temp btw

I use to run an hid pnp kit and at first it looked amazing...

but with the projectors, is day and night.

for those of you that ran 35w HID bulbs in your stock headlights (with no projectors) have you ever been flashed? I'd like to do a retrofit but I don't have the time or money for one and would like to know how bad it really is for other drivers.

Also, is there any mod that could be done to the stock headlights so that light isn't all over the place. For example, would it be possible to paint the top 1/4 of the headlight black or put black tape over it to form a ghetto cut off line?

It's been almost 2 weeks and still haven't been flashed. I see no reason to do the retro fit just to have hid's. If you want them, get them. Plain and simple.

i've had mine over 2 years.

my truck is lifted. headlights have not been re-aimed.

never been flashed.

Wow, very interesting, you guys say you've never been flashed?

I ordered a pair of blazers (fog lights) from ebay and also 35watt 4300 bulbs from DDM that will go in there . The blazers are highly regarded over at hidplanet and they were like $40 with shipping. I'm going to now order 55w 5000 bulbs from DDM and put them in the blazers and the 35w bulbs into the stock headlights.

before i have the retrofit in mine, I had never been falshed with the 35w with the stock head lights.
