new HU, blown gauge lights

this is an old problem, but I didn't get a response on the old thread.

Replaced the HU in my 2006 Sport and I attached the orange wires from in the metra harness. I have read this was wrong. I now have no lights in my gauge cluster (speedometer, etc), but I do have the warning lights working within it.

The HVAC/middle dash cluster lights work along with the dimmer on it, but still no lights on the gauges. I have an appt with the dealer on Friday, but I would love to try to fix this myself if possible. I can't find find any blown fuses.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i dont get how u guys have no lights with the orange wire hooked up , i havent had any problems with my hu on the orange wire with the metra harness. my hu lights turn on when i turn on my lights, but i cant dim the hu lights with the dimmer, but the guauge lights dim normal.

i would redo the harness, unhook the orange wire and see if that brings everything normal.

still no lights

Checked out the wiring harness, etc and made sure the orange/wh wire was connected properly, but no background lights for the main gauge console.

Dealership is not sure what blew it, so they are ordering a dimmer (rheostat). Rheostat has 2 parts - one for bulbs and one for led (??).
They think I blew the led side with the new radio. (console has led and heating console uses bulbs)

Does any of this make sense to someone else???
