First off, forgive me if this has already been covered-which I'm sure someone will point out.
I have a problem with my '05's JBL non-nav not wanting to give CDs back. I have been looking into upgrading to a new HU - one with alot of the same features as the stock JBL but also with the Ipod jack.
I have found this HU to be the right price, have all the features I would need and have both the aux output/rear connectivity for my Ipod.
Eclipse CD1200G Double DIN Car Stereo CD/MP3 + USB + Aux Inputs
Made by one of the better companies out there, I think Eclipse is a good way to go. Plus it doesn't look gaudy like aot of the newer stuff out there.
My only concern is that with the JBL and all the integrated amp/subwoofer garbage that I might need more than just a wiring harness to make it work. Probably some type of other adaptor. I've replaced several headunits in the past so installs aren't new to me but I've never tried to tackle one with an "upgraded" OEM stereo before. Does anyone out there have any suggestions or experience with replacing the JBL mess with a new HU while still keeping (at least for the time being) the OEM speakers, amp(s) and subwoofer? I know a few Tacoma guys have used this Eclipse unit with good reviews but then again, I don't think the Tacomas sound system came with any options.
Any input, links, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
