New Husky Liner design??!

Ordered a new set of husky liners for my 4R and noticed that they physically look different then the older ones..

This is what I've seen in the past and is friends cars

This is what I received

husky couldn't give me a straight answer when I asked if it was just a design change. They told me "I dont really know"

Its not a big deal I was just curious to know why it had changed and if there was anything actually different between them, the pics look like the older style are deeper but I could just be the picture. Anyone have the new and the old etc. Was just curious.

Interesting. Is the material type the same. More rubbery than hard plastic?

You had me check mine to be sure. I ordered these exactly a month ago.
I seem to have the old style "tread" non-90degree lines WITH the logo up front and my rears are the new style with 90degree design

These are not rubbery at all. They are soft/hard plastic like the weathertechs. Are the old weatherbeaters rubbery? Cause what I've been told they are still stiff plastic type

Wonder if you got a set like cause when they were transitioning or something. Is the front material like a soft rubber or more like a flexible plastic type [MENTION=175351]s13koop[/MENTION]

I wish husky made the X-ACT ones for out truck, those are a nice flexible soft thick rubber. They make them for tacos but not ours

Oh they are quite hard and slippery when new. Although the rears are folded in half in the box.
Sounds like X-Act are ones I’d like better. My wife was similar in her F150 FX4. Thick and rubbery.

100%. I don't know why they don't make the x-act contour for the 4runner. The fit and material (softer rubber, closer to Toyota's OEM all-weather mat) is significantly better than the weatherbeater series, which remind me of weathertech's floor liner - they're hard and don't fit perfectly. The "new design" look more like the x-act contour mats I've had in other vehicles. It looks like they're standardizing on one design, but keeping two different material/products.

If it wasn't clear the Husky X-Act Contour mat is without question the best floormat out there... maybe if we generate enough demand...

Huh. I guess I have the new design then. I like them. I just wish they were a little less plastic'y and more rubbery BUT they work really f*cking well for the wet/muddy days.

Email Husky and request the x-act contour mats for the 5th gen 4Runner!:keyboard:

I had to cut the little plastic nibs off the section of the mats that lays on the door trim to get them to lay flatter but yours look pretty good. Perhaps they've improved the underside design as well.

They fit super tight and good which I'm happy with and cover the most area ive seen in mats. My main concern was the 2nd row i wanted better coverage then WT, as i have two young kids who make a mess and there was always more stuff under the mats then on them lol but anyway Yeah im not a fan of the material, wish they are thick rubber. I really can't complain i paid like $115 for them so I'm happy and sold my weathertechs for $80

I picked up the OEM toyota all weather mats on Ebay for cheap. they are rubbery.
A Toyota dealer in Florida had a few hundred sets for sale. Guess Floridians dont need rubber floor mats ?
The Husky's seem good quality though
