New interior Carpet?

I bought a used runner last year, and it came with some nasty stains. I've gotten most of it out, but there's still alot I couldn't get. Looking to replace the factory carpeting for the passenger compartment in my 2006 Sport Edition. Does anyone have any experience doing this? Where could I buy new interior carpeting?

Just checked with them, they do not offer carpeting for the 2006 4Runner.

Did you get the carpet Steam Cleaned or did you remove the stains yourself?
If you haven't, I'd get it steam cleaned And/Or look into getting the Weathertech or Husky Floor Liners, which will cover most of the carpeting and it will protect from future staining etc.

You can get original equipment carpeting from Toyota. Combining this with a good interior detail will make the inside of your car look virtually new. However I looked into that for a Tundra I sold, and the cost was way up there. I think a good alternative is to have them cleaned with a very good carept cleaner, that sucks out rather than the traditional spray cleaner. Then get the Weathertech system which covers most everything anyway.

Those are good suggestions. I think I may have a professional interior carpet cleaning before considering a new carpet purchase. I wonder how much this would cost?

I have a Weathertech Cargo Liner - maybe I'll spring for the front/rear liners as well.

Most car detailer shops charge between $50-$100 for the whole vehicle. Of course you get what you pay for.

There are tons of wrecked 4Runners out there. Call some Toyota recyclers or email sellers on Ebay who seem to have an abundance of parts, and try to locate a good replacement OEM carpet. Also check car-part.com. I've tried aftermarket carpet in another car and it sucked. I've bought donor carpet for several of my past cars off of Ebay that were all used OEM, and as long as you make sure it's clean without any holes, it's good to go. Don't be tempted to clean it before installing it - do it afterwards to preserve the best shape. You can spot clean, but don't like shampoo or hose it down IMO. Also if you do get it, unfold it for a couple of days prior to installation. Cleaning can work, there is even carpet dye you can spray on to the existing stuff in the car. Not sure how that works, but you have options. You do get what you pay for like was mentioned already.
