New Key Fob

Received my new key fob. Got it programmed with the instructions on this forum, and the locks work fine, but the rear window doesn't respond. Is there something else I need to do to program the rear window? Thanks...06 4runner

Does rear window work with other fobs? If not you need to reset the back window ECU by running the window up and down with the dashboard switch.

is auto up and down working from in the truck? if not the remote will not roll it down

just for good measure, since you dont have other FOBs, you have to hold the rear window button down for a second or two. i think the timeframe is re-programmable, somewhere between .7sec and 2 sec.

otherwise yeah the dash buttons or the roll all the windows down and back up reset may be required.

Thanks all for the info. I had the battery disconnected for some maintenance, so I did have to reprogram my windows. The fob worked for the backglass after I accomplished the reprogram. Also, it only rolls the window down, not up. It looks like the arrow on the fob just points down so I assume it only works the back window in one direction. Thanks again.

thats correct. i remember reading something about someone closing their window on a dogs head. maybe that was an explanation as to why it doesn't close. there is a thread somewhere around here that explains how to wire it up so the FOB will close the window.

That is for sure! Just seems like an odd option, but I can see the safety concern.

Slight thread hijack but wheres a good place to get FOBs. Mine is a bit...iffy and a spare would be nice.

I bought mine off amazon from bestkeys..20.00 for one..seems to work fine.
