All I can say is wow.
I made a last minute change from the Revos to the 265/70/17 KO's yesterday and Im sure glad I did. Not only does the car look awesome and I mean awesome, it rides so much better! Riding down roads with lots of bumps/potholes the 4R used to jump around almost to the point of being jarring. The KO's handle the bumps SO much better and the 4R feels much more planted than it used to.
Regarding power loss and braking increases - they are definitely evident. At first the trans didnt know what to do but as I drove around thought the day it certainly noticed the difference and accounted for it.
Noise - this is very subjective. Cruising around 25-45 you can hear a slight and I mean slight rumble. Normal tires make a wissshhhing sound when driving, these make a whoosing sound. This noise increases until about 55 when wind noise completely drowns them out. At about 75-80 which is what I got them to for a couple of mins today they kind of whistle, kind of rumble its hard to explain but by no means over-bearing.
I got 5 tires for 185 a piece mounted and balanced + 70 for alignment as they were toe out. I was surprised when the guy came back and said I needed rotors and pads up front as I would be griding shortly. This surprised me because there was no evidence of weak breaking/squeaking etc. I suppose its because of my driving and because I live on a mountain at school. I got 40k out of them so I cant be too disappointed. Total bill for the day was 1561 which I think was fair and I think I did quite well on the meats.
I will update this thread as time progresses. So far I am more than impressed with the ride and lack of tire noise. I hope they at least meet my expectations in the rain and Im sure they'll flat out slay the snow.
