The white truck with the outboard spare looks too much like a RAV-4 from the back. Can't say I'm a fan of the cheesy plastic spare tire cover.

Not really, just a lot of wood to make it appealing to the eye. IMO, still not worth the premium over a Limited.
heck yeah I totally agree with you. I think the Es350 is a good improvement over the Camry in terms of ride, quality, and looks, but as far as the 4runner/Gx relationship goes 4runner owns, I don't know why lexus even bothered making the gx

The gx may have a couple advantages-(if you can call them that) but certainly not worth 10 grand more

The GX470 is still a Lexus so the materials are better quality like the dash, pillars, headliner, etc. You can also notice a huge difference in sound insulation. I can fall asleep in the Lexus while you hear every wind noise and car passing in the 4Runner. Still, for me it is not worth the $$$. Just wanted to elaborate a bit more.

Ouch, I'm used to the ugly comments but calling it a good "car" - that's what really hurts :sobbing: This is why I've included the links to the various 4x4 of the year awards in my sig so that people understand the GX is not a car - well, I also do it to rub it in to Thai
This can actually be a bad thing - whenever I take Mrs. GG and GG Jr. on a road trip they almost always fall asleep within 10 minutes - got nobody to talk to

Actually, my family and I took the GX470 on a 1,000 mile road trip for the security of roadside assistance and the more comfortable ride. Unfortunately, we have a short in the turn signal bulb. It went out 1/2 way through the trip but after one bump, we are good to go!

This reminds me of one of my favorite movie of all time...National Lampoon Vacation (first one, of course)...with Christy Brinkley driving that red Ferrari right next to chevy chase on the highway while his family was sleeping....
