New Lights on '99 w/ Pics

finally got them installed and aimed. I removed the blinkers due to a cracked housing and decided that i wanted off-road lights there instead of purchasing new blinkers. My main reason for not attaching to the bumper was that I wanted everything to be reversible. I can take everything out and i haven't damaged any components (ie drilling holes in the bumper). right now, I am in the process of routing the blinkers to the corner light location.







To get them to fit, i made aluminum brackets that screw into the blinker mounting location and accept the light mount. I did have to cut off the mount from the bottom of the housing and re-locate it to the back of the housing so the lights would fit better. I used JB-weld and screws to re-attach the mount. Overall, i'm impressed with the light output. the lights are brighter and whiter than my headlights, and they were under $20. these are the lights, but i got them from walmart:

Just my opinion, but I think you should have placed them elsewhere and left the original blinkers. At this moment your car is not street legal as it is missing front turn signals, unless Kansas law allows for that.
Not to mention it's dangerous cause no one knows you want to make a turn. But you're saying you'll fix that soon.

I think right in the middle is where they would look better. Same hight but moved towards the center under the 'lip'. They probably wouldn't stick out as much in the middle.

But it's all just my opinion. I just installed Hella fog lights into the factory wholes and am as happy as a child with the result.

Not a bad idea but the execution looks a little out of place.

it's not for everyone, but here were my options:

Option 1:
buy new blinkers = $28
buy new aux lights = $20
Total = $48

Option 2:
combine blinkers and corners = FREE
Fill blinker hole with aux lights = $20
Total = $20

I saved money and ended up with great (imo) lights. Also, I didn't drill any holes in the bumper or modify the blinker housing so everything can be put back to stock if necessary. it may not look perfectly blended in, but i don't mind. I could remove the back of the light housing in order to recess it a bit, but that's project for later. i do want to make some kind of mold behind the light so it blends into the bumper more, but i have huge school demands right now:



this is last year's car and the '07 is due in a week and we just have loose parts right now.
